Over the last few days, Hekia has been attending events surrounding Korea National Day in Auckland and she provides some insights into the communitiy's activities. Over the weekend, she attended the Kapa Haka performance in Rotorura - which were put on as another Christchurch fundraiser. She also attended a Press Gallery fundraising debate in Wellington. In Parliament, she's been very active on a number of fronts, with special emphasis on her Womens Affairs Ministerial portfolio, and she encourages women with aspirations for board memberships to visit http://www.mwa.govt.nz/ and enter their details on the database..In Mana, she notes that the Porirua Youth Awards process has kicked off and potential candidates should think about getting nominations in.
